Steven Nicknish recorded his 18th career shutout Friday evening as the No. 13-ranked UT Dallas men's soccer team remained undefeated on season with a 2-0 win at LeTourneau, 2-0, in American Southwest Conference play.
The Comets (8-0-3, 2-0-2 ASC) collected its seventh shutout of the season as they got goals from
Omar Jaroun and
Michael Darrow in the squad's first ASC road game of the season.
Nicknish recorded four saves in his fifth shutout of the season and passes former Comet Jake Brandon, who had 17 shutouts from 2006-09. Nicknish leads ASC with an 0.28 goals against average.
Jaroun's tally came in the 18th minute to open the scoring as he received a pass from Darrow and beat LETU goalkeeper Patrick Barba to the lower left. It was Jaroun's seventh goal of the season. Darrow's team-leading 13th goal of the season came in the 58th minute when he collected a free kick from teammate
Travis White from the left of the goal. It was Darrow's first goal in three games for the Comets after opening the season scoring in eight straight contests.
UTD finished the game with 22 shots, 11 on goal, with Darrow leading the Comets with six shots.

Steven Nicknish made four saves. In four ASC games this season, the Comets have outscored their opponents, 13-1.
The Comets will continue their ASC road trip Saturday night at rival Texas-Tyler. Game time is 6 p.m. in Tyler.
