Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 PINEVILLE, LA (04.20.13) - The UT Dallas softball team wrapped up the regular season Saturday afternoon with a pair loss at Louisiana College in American Southwest Conference East Division play. The Comets dropped the opener, 9-6, before falling, 5 -0, in the finale of the four-game weekend series.

The Comets finish the regular season with a 23-16-1 overall record and a 12-12 mark in ASC East play, ending up fourth in the division. Louisiana College improved to 24-13 (13-11 ASC East) with the wins and jumped the Comets the ASC East standings.

UTD opens the ASC Tournament Thursday at 1 p.m. against ASC West champion Texas Lutheran. The event is being played at Oran Good Park in Farmers Branch, Texas.

GAME 1 - LC 9, UTD 6
The Comets jumped out to an early lead, but Louisiana College scored three runs in each the 5th and 6th to come from behind and take Saturday's opener, 9-6.

The host Lady Cats struck first with three runs in the 1st before UTD answered with a three-run 2nd and a go-ahead run in the 3rd. In the 2nd, Hannah Creech came home on an LC error on a Jonelle Feikis grounder to open the scoring for the Comets. Feikis later scored on another Lady Cat error before Stephanie Harris single in Morgan Anderson to knot the game, 3-3. In the 3rd, Creech scored her second run of the game, coming home on yet another LC error.

In the top of the 5th, the Comets extended their lead to 5-3 when Taylor Ervin doubled to left and then scored on an LC error on a failed pickoff attempt. However, the Lady Cats answered with six runs over the next two frames. Sandwiched between the two three-run innings by the Lady Cats, UTD scored a single run in the top of the 6th on an RBI double by Avery McHugh, scoring Brittanie Knowles.

Jeni Olbeter tossed into the 5th, giving up four earned runs on five hits. She struck out one and walked two. Megan Aragones (7-6) finished the game, tossing 2.0 innings with two earned runs on four hits. McHugh was 2-for-3 while Creech finished 2-for-4.

GAME 2 - LC 5, UTD 0
The Comets committed a school-record eight errors as they closed the four-game series at Louisiana College with 5-0 loss to the Lady Cats.

LC opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the bottom of the 1st and added three runs in the 4th as the Lady Cats got all their offense in two innings. UTD committed three errors in both the 1st and 4th innings.

Jessie Richardson (3-2) was handed the loss, giving up five runs (one earned) on seven hits in 5.0 innings of work. Micah Starkey tossed a final scoreless frame, giving up one walk. The Comets managed just three hits.
