RICHARDSON, TX (10.11.14) - The UT Dallas women's soccer team was handed just its second loss of the season Saturday night as the Comets fell 1-0 to Carroll College (MT) in non-conference action.

The Comets (now 8-2-1) dropped an overtime decision for the second time this season, falling to then No. 2-ranked Trinity, 2-1, on Sept. 14. UTD will look to bounce back next weekend with a pair of American Southwest Conference road games. The Comets will travel to East Texas Baptist Friday and Louisiana College Saturday.

The visiting Saints needed just 1:19 into overtime to pull away with the heartbreaking 1-0 win. Following a foul on a breakaway, Brittany Girolami booted a free kick from about 30 yards out over the head of UTD keeper Macaire Ament. The Comets were out-shot by Carroll, 11-8, on the night, but finished with five shots on goal, compared to just three by the Saints. Sarah Borg led the Comets with three shots, two on goal, while Ament finished with two saves.

The two teams had just three shots apiece through first 45 minutes as neither team mounted much of an offensive attack in the first chilly weather of the season. UTD had its chances in the second half, taking a pair of corner kicks, one of which created a header by Borg that just missed frame.
