Comets' Scoring Drought Continues, UTD Falls To Cru, 1-0

FRESHMAN DANNY MEYER HAD EIGHT SHOTS AGAINST UMHB.
Box Score RICHARDSON, TX (09.20.14) - For the second straight night, the UT Dallas men's soccer team was shut out as the Comets fell to Mary Hardin-Baylor, 1-0, to wrap up the home weekend.

The Comets (now 3-2-2) watched their five-game unbeaten streak come to end with Saturday night's loss despite out-shooting UMHB, 25-11. UTD managed just six shot on goal, however, with Cru keeper Javier Zaragoza stopping all scoring opportunities. UMHB (now 3-3) had just three shots on goal in the contest with Comet keeper Joseph Weber making two saves.

The lone goal of the game came very late in the opening half as the Cru's Case Carnes tallied his team-leading fourth goal of the season with 21 seconds left before the break, an unassisted goal from just inside the box. The Comets would hold UMHB to just one shot on goal in the second half, but found many of their own shots off target as well. UTD took 16 shots in the second, only two of which were on frame.

Danny Meyer led the offense with eight shots while Omar Jaroun finished with five shots. Jaroun and Roman Rodriguez each collected two shots on goal.

The Comets return to the field next weekend with a pair of road "friendly" games against American Southwest Conference schools. UTD visits LeTourneau Friday at 3 p.m. and Texas-Tyler Saturday at 3 p.m.
