RICHARDSON, TX (10.15.15) - After a sluggish first half, the UT Dallas women's soccer team scored a pair of late goals to secure a 2-0 home win over East Texas Baptist Thursday night in American Southwest Conference play.
The Comets (now 10-5, 4-2 ASC) secured its sixth straight 10-win season and will look for a fourth straight win Saturday when they host LeTourneau. Game time is 5 p.m. at the UTD Soccer field.
UTD struggled offensively in the opening half as the Comets managed just nine shots in the opening 45 minutes, battling to a scoreless halftime. However, the Comets' offense came alive in the second half and finally broke open the scoring on a penalty kick in the 68th minute. With 22:51 left to play in regulation, Comet freshman

Jacqueline Kaufman stepped up for the penalty kick and drilled a shot over ETBU keeper Christina Salas, bounced the ball off the crossbar. UTD added an insurance goal wih 18 minutes left when
Millie Atkins cored from 15 yards out after an entry pass from Edge.
The Comets finished the match with 25 shots, 13 on goal, with
Jessica Rusk leading the way with six shots.
Megan Mugavero had five shots and Atkins came off the bench with four shots. UTD keeper
Monica Dallacasa made four saves, logging her fifth shutout of the season.
For ETBU (now 4-8, 3-3 ASC), Amber Campbell took three shots while Erin Miller had two shots. The Tigers took 10 shots as a team, only four on goal, and Salas made 11 saves in a full 90 minutes.
