RICHARDSON, TX (10.24.15) - The No. 20-ranked UT Dallas volleyball team wrapped up the home portion of its regular season schedule Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 win over LeTourneau in American Southwest Conference play.
The Comets (now 23-2, 10-0 ASC) extended their winning streak to 16 straight matches while collecting their 18th sweep of the season with a 25-12, 25-16, 25-16, victory over the visiting YellowJackets (now 9-18, 2-9 ASC). UTD closes out ASC play Tuesday night as the Comets visit Texas-Tyler at 7 p.m.
Senior setter
Kayla Jordan finished the short match with 46 assists, averaging 15.3 per set, in her final regular-season home match of her career. Jordan added four kills along with seven digs in the victory. Senior
Meredith Crawford, making her first start since Sept. 5 finished with nine kills, nine digs and an ace while senior
Kelsey Morrison, making her first start of the season, had seven digs. The trio has been with the Comets all four seasons and have been a part of one of the best four-stretches in program history. Over the past four seasons, the Comets have posted a 103-29 so far with two trips to the ASC title match.
Michelle Toro ended the afternoon with a match-high 15 kills, hitting .636 with just one error in 22 swings. Toro added two blocks and a dig.
Abbie Barth had 12 kills, hitting .417, with a match-best 14 digs and three blocks. The Comets hit .330 as a team and finished with four blocks and four aces.
The YellowJackets had just a combined nine kills through the first two sets before finding any kind of offensive rhythm in the opening set. LETU finished the match hitting .019, tallying 18 kills and 16 errors for the contest.
