Women's Soccer Blanks Louisiana College To Close ASC Schedule

RICHARDSON, TX (10.29.15) - The UT Dallas women's soccer team did not allow a shot on goal as the Comets cruised to a 5-0 home win over Louisiana College Thursday night in their American Southwest Conference finale.

The Comets (now 12-7, 6-4 ASC) got two goals from freshman Jacqueline Kaufman, including her team-leading fifth game-winner, as they out-shot LC, 32-5. UTD would finish the contest with just 12 shots on goal while limiting an opponent without a shot on goal for the first time this season.

Kaufman's first goal of the game came in the 27th minute as scored from just in front of the goal after a Sofia Quezada free kick from 25 yards out. UTD doubled its lead in the 33rd minute as Tatum Moog scored off her own rebound after a cross from the right from Millie Atkins. Atkins would then give UTD a 3-0 lead before the break as she broke away from near midfield after an through pass from MaKayla Forsberg and beat LC keeper Haley Clark one-on-one in the 42nd minute.

The Comets would extended their lead to 4-0 in the 50th minute as Kaufman recorded her second tally of the contest, team-leading 12th of the season, as she streaked down the right side after a long pass from Rachel Mullen. Lindsey Perek finished the scoring in the 86th minute with an unassisted tally that sliced past Clark from the left side.

Kaufman led UTD with five shots, two on goal, while Melissa Fulfer and Megan Mugavero each finished with four shots. Monica Dallacasa played a scoreless first half while Kristi Istre took over in goal for the second half.

For the Lady Wildcats (now 4-14, 0-0 ASC), Clark made seven saves while giving up five goals in a full 90-minute outing. Jayme Harmon accounted for four of LC's five shots.
