RICHARDSON, TX (09.15.15) - Despite a 27-8 shot advantage, the No. 20-ranked UT Dallas men's soccer had to settle for an 0-0 tie with non-conference rival Austin College Tuesday night at the UTD Soccer Field.
The Comets (now 4-1-1) finished the match with 12 shots on goal, compared to just three by the visiting 'Roos, but the Austin College goalkeeping tandem of Michael Moran and Joseph Khalaf kept UTD out of the net. Moran made five saves in the opening half and Khalaf finished with seven saves in the second half and overtime.
Danny Meyer ended the night with five shots, two on goal, while
J.T. Hawkins and
Jordan Rubel each finishing with four shots. UTD keeper
Joseph Weber made three saves in his fourth shutout of the season.
Austin College is now 3-3-1 after Tuesday's draw.
The Comets return to action Friday night as they visit East Texas Baptist in what is officially a non-conference match. Game time is 7 p.m. in Marshall.
