CONWAY, AR (09.18.15) - The UT Dallas volleyball picked up a second straight win over a team receiving votes in the national poll as the Comets earned a hard-fought 3-1 (25-21, 26-28, 25-22, 25-21) victory at Hendrix in non-conference play Friday night.
The Comets (now 9-2) are also receiving votes in the latest AVCA Top 25 and will look crack into the poll with a win Saturday afternoon at Rhodes. Match time is 3 p.m. in Memphis.
Junior
Holyn Handley led three UTD players with double-digits kills as she tallied 14 kills in the victory, adding 16 digs and four blocks.
Abbie Barth added 13 kills and 24 digs while
Kristyn Schott finished with 12 kills.
Michelle Toro added seven kills and seven blocks.
Kayla Jordan had 43 assists, averaging nearly 11 per set, while libero
Fayna Zeng had a match-high 28 digs.
UTD struggled offensively throughout the match, hitting just .126 as a team, but collected 10 total blocks and had seven aces in the win.
With the loss, Hendrix fell to 6-6.
