RICHARDSON, TX (10.22.16) - The UT Dallas women's soccer team celebrated Senior Day Saturday afternoon with a 1-1 tie with Ozarks in American Southwest Conference play.
The Comets (now 9-6-1, 6-3-1 ASC) currently sit in fourth place in the ASC standings with one game left in league play. UTD will visit Belhaven Thursday before playing at Louisiana College Friday night in its ASC finale.
Ozarks opened the scoring in the ninth minute with a tally by Brittanie Gragg to lift the Lady Eagles to an early 1-0 lead. Ozarks maintained its throughout the first half and for the majority of the second half before the Comets got the equalizer from
Millie Atkins. Atkins' third goal of the season came in the 84th minute as she pulled in a pass from the left from teammate
Laurel Hansen and slipped a shot past the Lady Eagle keeper.
The Comets finished the game with 33 shots, eight on goal, with
Megan Mugavero leading the pack with eight shots.
Melissa Fulfer took six shots and
Kat Civitillo ended with four shots. UTD keeper
Kristi Istre ended the match with three saves in a full 110 minutes in goal.
