LONGVIEW, TX (10.08.16) - The No. 9-ranked UT Dallas volleyball team picked up its 11th consecutive victory and 25th straight conference regular-season win Saturday afternoon with a sweep of LeTourneau in American Southwest Conference play. The Comets downed LETU, 25-21, 25-16, 25-8.
The Comets (now 16-1, 7-0 ASC) hit .330 as a team with freshman
Dylan Brinkman led UTD in kills for the second straight match, collecting nine put-aways against the YellowJackets.
Michelle Toro,
Holyn Handley and
Emma Wallbrown each finished eight kills. Freshman
Lauren Schilling added six kills and four blocks.
Caroline Shecterle finished with 22 assists while
Fayna Zeng had 17 assists as the duo split time at setter while libero
Briana Tully had a match-high 10 digs.
UTD is back in action next weekend when the Comets host the second ASC Crossover Tournament of the season, Friday and Saturday. At the event, UTD will face Concordia Texas, Hardin-Simmons and Mary Hardin-Baylor at the UTD Activity Center.
