AUSTIN, TX (11.26.16) - The UT Dallas men's basketball team scored a season-high 93 points, but it wasn't enough as the Comets fell on the road at Concordia Texas, 110-93, in non-conference action Saturday afternoon.
The Comets (0-4) will have another chance at CTX in 11 days when UTD hosts the Tornados in an official American Southwest Conference game on Wednesday, Dec. 7. The Comets will open ASC play Saturday, Dec. 3, when they host Ozarks at 3 p.m. at the UTD Activity Center.
Four Comets scored in double figures with
Jon Hatcher leading the charge with 15 points, along with five assists.
Reagan Keogh and
Caleb Banks each scored 13 points while
Ben Smith added 12 points. Banks finished with a team-best seven assists while Keogh and Smith each snagged four rebounds.
The Comets shot 49.2 percent from the field in the loss, hitting 31-of-63 shots from the floor, but were just 8-of-22 (36.4%) from three-point range. UTD ended the afternoon 23-of-33 (69.7%) from the foul line.
CTX (3-2) finished the game shooting 63.3 percent (38-of-6) as a team, connecting on 13-of-23 three-pointers (56.5%). Joe Neal scored a game-high 29 points, leading four Tornados in double figures.
