RICHARDSON, TX (09.11.16) - Senior Megan Mugavero tallied her team-leading third goal of the season 4:09 into the first overtime period as the UT Dallas women's soccer team upended previously unbeaten Chapman, 1-0, at the UTD Soccer Field Sunday afternoon.

The Comets (now 2-2) will open American Southwest Conference play Saturday when they host Howard Payne at 6 p.m. With the loss, Chapman fell to 3-1 on the young season.

Mugavero has now scored every goal for the Comets this season and Sunday's game-winner was her first tally which was assisted as teammate Millie Atkins centered the ball from the left side on a breakaway. Mugavero received the ball and beat the Chapman keeper one-on-one to left side to give UTD its second consecutive victory.

The Comets finished the match with 19 shots, six on goal, with Jessica Rusk leading the field with five shots of her own. UTD keeper Monica Dallacasa collected a season-best 10 saves, recording her second shutout of the season. The visiting Panthers took 22 shots, 10 on goal.
