TYLER, TX (09.20.16) - UT Dallas senior outside hitter
Abbie Barth became the program's career digs leader during the second set of the No. 9-ranked Comets' 3-0 road win over Texas-Tyler in American Southwest Conference East Division play Tuesday night.
Barth, a native of Roanoke, entered Tuesday's match with the host Patriots five digs shy of the UTD career mark of 1,593 digs, held by former Comet Dana Hilzendager (2009-12). Barth finished the night with 15 digs and now has 1,603 digs in her Comet career.
After a slugging start, the Comets (now 9-1, 2-0 ASC) bounced back from a close 25-23 win in the opening set to trounce UTT, 25-16, in the second stanza to take a 2-0 lead. UTD capped the sweep with a 25-20 win to collect its 20th consecutive regular-season conference victory, dating back to the 2014 season.

Earlier in the day, the Comets moved into the top 10 of the AVCA/NCAA D-III Top 25 for the first time since 2009. The Comets return to action this weekend with three matches as the first ASC crossover event of the season. UTD will face Howard Payne Friday and Sul Ross State and McMurry Saturday at the event hosted by Concordia Texas in Austin.
