AUSTIN, TX (09.24.16) - The No. 9-ranked UT Dallas volleyball team extended its winning streak to seven matches Saturday after picking up two more wins to close out the first of two American Southwest Conference Crossover Tournaments of the season. This weekend's event was hosted at Concordia Texas.
The Comets (now 12-1, 5-0 ASC) opened Saturday with a 3-0 win over Sul Ross State, 25-16, 25-9, 25-12, before rallying for a four-set win over McMurry, 16-25, 25-22, 25-13, 25-10. UTD returns to action Tuesday night with an ASC East match with rival East Texas Baptist. Match time is 7 p.m. at the UTD Activity Center.

Michelle Toro leading the way with nine kills and a block.
Abbie Barth added seven kills and seven digs while
Dylan Brinkman finished with six kills and five aces, two shy of the Comet three-set record.

MATCH 2 - UTD 3, McMURRY 1
After a sluggish opening set, hitting just .109 as a team, the Comets bounced back for straight set wins as UTD upended McMurry, 3-1. The Comets wrapped up the contest with a team hitting percentage of .216.
Brinkman led the Comets with 15 kills, hitting .293, while Toro finished with 14 kills and four blocks for UTD. Shecterle ended the night with 36 assists while Tully Shecterle each corralled 13 digs.
McMurry (now 10-5, 4-2 ASC) came into the match leading the ASC's West Division.
