RICHARDSON, TX (09.24.16) - The UT Dallas women's soccer team had its four-game winning streak come to an end Saturday night as the Comets fell at home to Mary Hardin-Baylor, 1-0.
After a scoreless opening half, the visiting Cru scored the only goal of the contest in the 64th minute when Allison Porter drilled a shot into an open net after a brilliant save by UTD keeper
Monica Dallacasa. Dallacasa's save was cleared by the Comet defense but Porter collected the clearance attempt and drained the shot from just inside the 18-yard box.
UMHM out-shot the Comets, 19-17, for the match, and took four more shots on goal (8-4) than the home team.
Melissa Fulfer led UTD with four shots while
Megan Mugavero and
Bailee Davis each took three shots. Dallacasa finished with six saves.
The Comets (now 4-3, 2-1 ASC) return to action Wednesday night when they host non-conference foe Austin College. Game time is 7 p.m. at the UTD Soccer Field.
