RICHARDSON, TX (10.31.17) - For the 16th consecutive season, the UT Dallas women's soccer team has advanced to the semifinal round of the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament, thanks to a 2-1 home win over Sul Ross State Tuesday night in the quarterfinals.
The No. 3-seeded Comets (16-3) matched a school record with their 16th win of the season and will face second-seeded and No. 22-ranked nationally Mary Hardin-Baylor at 2 p.m. Friday in Abilene in the round of four. Tournament host and regular-season champion Hardin-Simmons will play fifth-seeded Texas-Tyler at 11 a.m. Friday in the other semifinal contest. The ASC title game is slated for 1 p.m. Sunday.

Keely Fillman one-touched a cross from the right from teammate
Melissa Fulfer past a diving Lady Lobo keeper. The goal was Fillman's seventh of the season, ranking her second on the squad, while Fulfer's assist was the 30th of her career, setting a new Comet career mark. UTD maintained the 1-0 lead at the break, out-shooting SRS, 16-1, in the opening half.
The Lady Lobos (8-7-1) evened the contest in the 53rd minute when Lauren Ebbs took a pass from Rachel Hamilton, turned a drilled a shot into the back of the net for her 16th tally of the season. SRSU would take 10 shots in the second half, five of which by Ebbs.
The Comets would not regain the lead until the 82nd minute when Fulfer delivered a cross from near the corner post that was headed by
Stephanie White in front of the box. White's header bounced off the right post and SRSU keeper Ashlie Rojas into the goal for the game-winner. The tally was White's sixth of the season while the assist was Fulfer's 13th of the year, matching the UTD single-season mark set just last week by teammate
Jacquie Kaufman.
UTD ended the game with 39 shots, 12 on frame, with Fulfer leading the way with 10 shots.
Michelle Lee took eight shots and White finished with six shots. Fulfer led the Comets with three shots on goal.

Monica Dallacasa made two saves in a full 90 minutes in goal.
SRSUÂ finished wht 11 shots, three on goal, with Ebbs taking a team-best six shots. Rojas made nine saves.
