SEGUIN, TX (02.17.17) - The UT Dallas baseball team avenged its only loss on the season so far Friday night with an 11-7 road win over No. 10 Texas Lutheran to open three-game non-conference series.
The Comets (4-1) will look to continue their hot start Saturday with a 12 p.m. doubleheader with TLU at Katt-Isbel Stadium.

Jamie Andriot (1-0) struck ouf five Bulldogs without giving up a walk as he picked up his first win of the young season. Andriot gave up five earned runs as he scattered eight hits in 6.0 innings of work.
The Comets gave Andriot plenty offense Friday night, plating five runs in the 4th and four more in the 6th to earn the road victory.
Down 2-0 in the top of the 4th, the Comets cut the lead in half after a
Thomas Craig single, followed by a TLU error that allowed
Luke Richter to score from first base. Craig and
Alex Stack would later come home on a single by Isaiah Swan to give the Comets their first lead, 3-2. UTD then added an RBI single by
Josh Covey and a sacrifice fly by Barrry Casey to complete a five-run frame.
The Bulldogs (4-3) got a run back in the bottom of the 4th to draw back within two runs, 5-3, before UTD pulled away with a four-run 6th inning.
Ryan Burciaga would pick up an RBI on a fielder's choice, scoring Swann, for the Comets' first run of the 6th before Casey blasted his second home run of the season, a three-run shot to lift UTD to a 9-3 advantage.
TLU did answer with three runs in the bottom of the 6th and cut the lead back to two runs, 9-7, after a single run in the 7th, but the Comets finished the scoring with two runs in the 8th, thanks to RBI singles by
Connor Scruggs and Craig.
Five Comets recorded multi-hit games in the victory with Covey leading the way with a 3-for-6 performance with an RBI and a run scored. Scruggs, Craig and Swann were each 2-for-4 while Richter finished 2-for-5.
