TYLER, TX (09.14.17) -The UT Dallas men's soccer team was handed a 2-0 loss by Texas-Tyler Thursday night as the Comets opened American Southwest Conference play.
The host Patriots picked up two goals from Leandro Cid Fernandez, one in each half, as they out-shot UT Dallas, 14-8. Comet keeper
Chase Therrien was busy all night, matching a season-high with four saves, two in each period.
Fernandez picked up the first goal of the night in the 29th minute and doubled the Patriots' lead just 40 seconds into the second half.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
The offensively minded Comets ended the contest by matching season lows in both shots and shots on goal (5). UTD took five shots in the opening half, but managed just three shots over the final 45 minutes.
