CLARKSVILLE, ARK (09.16.17) - The UT Dallas men's soccer team evened its American Southwest Conference record to 1-1 Saturday afternoon, cracking through with a 1-0 victory in a defensive struggle with the University of the Ozarks.

UTD (3-3 overall, 1-1 ASC) finally scored the game's first and only goal in the 63rd minute when junior
Jacob Malone scored his first collegiate goal on a scramble in front of the Eagles' net.
Jude Anuwe was credited with the assist.
Ozarks (3-3, 0-2 ASC) put on a furious rush late in the match, but UT Dallas keeper
Chase Therrien snagged 5 saves, including a pair of one-on-one efforts in the final 10 minutes. The Comet defense otherwise dominated the game, maintaining possession throughout the first 80 minutes.Â
KEY PLAYERS: Malone was perfect on his only shot of the game, while
Brad Rivenes forced two saves from Ozarks keeper Luis Mena on three shots. Anuwe was the only other Comet with two shots, putting one on goal.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Prior to the final 15 minutes. UTD enjoyed a 9-7 shot lead, putting six on net. UTD also had five corner kick opportunities.
