PINEVILLE, LA (10.19.18) - The UT Dallas volleyball team stretch its winning streak to five straight matches Friday night with a 3-0 road win over Louisiana College in American Southwest Conference East Division play.
The Comets improved to 17-7 overall and 12-1 against ASC foes with Friday's win, with their only league loss coming to ASC West leader Mary Hardin-Baylor. UTD will look complete a clean run through the East Division Saturday with a 1 p.m. match at Belhaven to close out the league schedule.
UTD hit an impressive .393 as a team in the win over the host Wildcats with
Madeleine McCall leading the offense with eight kills and a .583 attack percentage.
Dylan Brinkman had seven kills while the trio of
Sydney Riordan,
Jillian Via and
Alyssa Porter each pitched in six kills in a balanced offensive attack.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Riordan used four kills in the opening set to lift the Comets to a 25-11 over LC to start the match. UTD hit an astounding .520 as a team, collecting 14 kills to just one error in 25 swings.
- The Comets kept the momentum going in the second set, picking up a 25-9 win over the Wildcats to take a 2-0 lead. McCall and Via each had four kills while Riordan picked up five digs in the stanza.
- Porter stepped up in the third set with five kills as the Comets completed the sweep.
