BELTON, TX (11.03.18) - The UT Dallas volleyball team is heading back to the American Southwest Conference title match for the sixth time in seven seasons after a quick 3-0 win over Concordia Texas Saturday in the tournament's semifinals, hosted by Mary Hardin-Baylor.

The Comets improved to 23-9 overall and will play in a fifth consecutive ASC championship contest against host UMHB. UTD claimed the last three league titles and are now two wins away from a fourth consecutive crown, which would match the ASC record.
Junior outside hitter
Lauren Schilling paced the Comets with eight kills and six blocks as the Comets picked up their second sweep of CTX in as many days.
Jillian Via and
Alyssa Porter each added seven kills while a trio of of Comets pitched in six kills in another balanced attack.
UTD hit .254 as a team and averaged 19.0 digs and 5.0 blocks per set in the match that lasted just over an hour.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Comets struggled offensively in the opening set, hitting just .133, but picked up a 25-15 win over CTX to open the match. Schilling, Porter and Sydney Riordan each had two kills.
- UTD more than doubled their offensive output in the second set, hitting .317 with 17 kills in a 25-18 win over the Tornados. Schilling and Porter each had four kills to lead the squad.
- Via sparked the Comets with five kills while Alex Nolan added four kills in a 25-22 win over CTX to close out the sweep. UTD hit .279 to send the Comets back to the title match.
