Comet Men Easily Handle Louisiana College in 85-63 Road Win

ALEXANDRIA, LA (02.01.18) - The UT Dallas men's basketball team earned its fifth straight victory Thursday night with an 85-63 road in over Louisiana College in American Southwest Conference East Division play.

The host Wildcats opened the night with the first four points of the game, but that would be their only lead of the contest as UTD answered with a 9-0 run and never looked back as the Comets completed the season sweep of LC.

The Comets grabbed their first double-digit lead with 12:32 remaining in the opening half when Hans Burwitz lifted UTD to a 19-8 advantage. The Wildcats clawed within points a few minutes later before UTD bounced back to secure a 37-25 lead at the half. The Comets led by double digits for the majority of the second half, grabbing a lead as large as 25 points late in the contest.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
The Comets finished the night shooting 55.4 percent (31-of-56) from the field as a team, hitting 4-of-11 three-pointers, and were 19-of-21 (90.5) from the free-throw line. UTD dominated the boards, doubling up the Wildcats in rebounds, 46-23, and finished the game with 46 points in the paint.The Comets' bench outscored the LC reserves, 26-8.

KEY PERFORMERS
Jon Hatcher led five Comets in double-figure scoring with a team-high 16 points on 6-of-11 accuracy. Dimitrius Underwood added 15 points and a game-high 12 rebounds for his seventh 'double-double' of the season.

Kelden Pruitt added 14 points, Caleb Banks had 12 points and five assists while Curtis Allen came off the bench for 10 points.

The Comets (14-6, 10-3 ASC) will look for their sixth straight victory Saturday afternoon when they visit Belhaven. Game time is 4 p.m. in Jackson, Miss.
