SHERMAN, TX (03.04.18) - The UT Dallas men's tennis team rallied from down 2-1 after doubles play to earn a 5-4 non-conference road win over Austin College Sunday afternoon.

The Comets' lone doubles win came at No. 3 where Giovanni Zamboni and Mario Jelev downed AC's Calum Robe/Erik Meendsen, 8-3. UTD dropped an 8-5 decision at No. 1 and and 8-4 result at No. 2.

Alberto Hernandez was the Comets' first singles player to finish as he knotted the match, 2-2, with a 6-0, 6-4, win at No. 2 over Josh Granberry. Jelev then gave UTD the lead with a No. 1 singles win over Kenneth Hardy, 6-4, 6-1. Zamboni (No. 3, 6-2, 6-2) and Ashwin Vaithianathan (No. 4, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4) would then secure the win for the Comets before the 'Roos picked up victories at No. 5 and 6 singles.

The Comets (3-1) return to action Thursday with a non-conference match at East Texas Baptist at 3 p.m. in Marshall.
