RICHARDSON, TX (04.07.18) - The UT Dallas men's tennis team returned home Saturday afternoon after more than a month away, earning a 7-2 win over McMurry in American Southwest Conference West Division play.
The Comets took 2-of-3 doubles matches and followed up with five singles win to extend their winning streak to five matches.
The tandem of 
Eric Chen and 
Ryan Morton opened the contest with an 8-2 win over McMurry's Joseph Diaz/Zach Miller at No. 3 doubles. UTD's 
Giovanni Zamboni and 
Mario Jelev then followed with a 8-4 win at No. 2 over Cody Aaron/Andrew Hallowell.
Up 2-1 heading to singles action, 
Alberto Hernandez collected a 6-3, 6-0, win over Clayton Pope at No. 2 singles and Morton added a 6-4, 6-0, win over Diaz at No. 6 singles to give UTD a 4-1 advantage. Chen then gave the Comets the match with a 6-7, 6-4, 6-0, win over Miller at No. 5.
Ashwin Vaithianathan (No. 4, 6-2, 6-4) and Zambroni (No. 3, 6-2, 6-4) each added straight-set wins.

The Comes (6-1, 3-0 ASC West) return to action next Saturday when they visit Mary Hardin-Baylor.
