UTD held the lead until the final eight minutes of the game with Kae'ron Baker lifted the Wildcats to a 55-53 lead with a three-pointers. The two squads would trade leads nine more times after that point before LC took the lead for good, 64-63, with 3:35 left with a Travis Schultz lay up. The Wildcats would then use back-to-back three-pointers by Timothy Stokes and Schultz to force the Comet foul to keep in the contest.
The Comets clawed back within two points, 73-71, with 41 seconds left after a Burwitz layup, but LC finished 4-for-4 from the line on the Wildcats' final two possessions to secure the win.
