RICHARDSON, TX (10.19.19) - Despite a 38-4 shot advantage, the UT Dallas women's soccer team played LeTourneau to a 0-0 tie at home Saturday night in American Southwest Conference play.
The Comets (now 13-1-2, 5-1-2 ASC) dominated possession over the 110-minute contest, holding the ball 76 percent of the time. UTD finished the match with just 12 shots on goal as the Comets struggled finding target throughout the contest.Â
Bailee Davis and
Sofia Munoz each took seven shots for the Comets while
Rana Hussein added six shots. Starting keeper
Morgan Sherman made one save in regulation while back-up keeper
Erin Clawson collected one save over the two overtime periods.
LETU keeper Mackenzie Wilbanks had an answered for every shot on frame by the Comets on the night, finishing with 12 saves. The visiting YellowJackets (now 8-5-1, 4-3-1 ASC) had just two shots on goal.
The Comets, currently sitting in a tie for third in the ASC with three games left to play, will return to the pitch next Thursday, Oct. 24, when they host Belhaven in another conference match. Game time is 5 p.m. at the UTD Soccer Field.
