RICHARDSON, TX (10.24.19) - The UT Dallas women's soccer team suffered a stunning 2-0 home loss to Belhaven Thursday night in American Southwest Conference play.
After over an hour delay due to lightning, the visiting Blazes needed just 40 seconds to grab an early lead and would hold off ever UTD attack for the remainder of the contest. Belhaven added an insurance goal in the 66th minute to hand the Comets their second straight shutout loss.
Light and heavy rain alternated throughout the contest as neither team could hold on to possession in the mach. The Comets (now 13-2-2, 5-2-2 ASC) managed just 12 shots in the loss, collecting only three shots on frame throughout the 90 minutes. Making her second collegiate start, UTD keeper
Erin Clawson made two saves as the Comet defense limited Belhaven to just nine shots.
The Comets will look to bounce back Saturday afternoon as they celebrate Senior Day against Louisiana College. Game time is 3:30 p.m. at the UTD Soccer Field.
