HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (03.19.19) - The UT Dallas men's tennis team remained unbeaten on the season with a 6-1 win over NCAA Division I Lafayette Tuesday morning.

Now 4-0, the Comets will continue their Spring Break road trip Wednesday with a 2:30 p.m. (Central) match against Virginia Wesleyan. UTD will wrap up the trip with a 9:00 a.m. (Central) Thursday match against Ramapo.

Using D-I scoring, the Comets took a 1-0 lead after doubles play, picking up two wins against the Leopards. Mario Jelev and Giovanni Zamboni earned a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles while Erin Chen and Brandon Giordonelli claimed a 6-1 win at No. 3.

Haydn Steffes quickly dispatched his opponent at No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-0, to give the Comets their first of five singles victories before Jed De Luna downed his foe at No. 6, 6-1, 6-0. Chen locked down the team victory at No. 5 singles with a 7-5, 6-2, victory. Zamboni (No. 2, 6-3, 6-4) and Vaithianathan (No. 3, 7-5, 3-6, 10-6) also earned singles wins over Lafayette.
