JACKSON, MS (09.14.19) - The UT Dallas volleyball team hit nearly .400 as a team as the Comets earned their fourth straight victory Saturday afternoon, a 3-0 win over Belhaven in American Southwest Conference East Division play.
The Comets (7-3, 2-0 ASC) exploded for a 25-5 win over host Belhaven in the opening set and finished the sweep with ensuing wins by the score of 25-21 and 25-17.
Jillian Via led UTD with 11 kills and 17 digs, hitting .429, while
Lauren Schilling added 10 kills and five total blocks for the Comets. UTD committed just eight errors in the quick three-set match, amassing nearly 16.0 kills per set and a .386 team hitting percentage in the sweep. The Comets finished with 49 digs (16.3 per set) and had six total blocks.
The Comets return to action next Saturday when they host LeTourneau in the squad's ASC East home opener. Match time is 2 p.m. at the UTD Activity Center.
