BROWNWOOD, TX (09.26.19) - The UT Dallas women's soccer team kept its perfect record alive while opening American Southwest Conference play with a 3-1 road win over Howard Payne Thursday afternoon.

The Comets improved to 8-0 overall with Thursday's win and will return to ASC play Saturday with a 3:30 p.m. road game at Sul Ross State.

UTD opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a tally by Sofia Munoz, but the host Lady Jackets (4-4-1, 0-1 ASC) answered 15 seconds later with the equalizer from Kara Moore. After closing the opening half tied with HPU, 1-1, the Comets took back control of the contest with a goal by Stephanie White in the 54th minute and Keely Fillman added an insurance goal in the 58th minute.

The Comets closed the win with 20 shots, 11 of which were on frame, while holding HPU to just four shots, two on goal. Munoz led the squad with six shots while Fillman took five shots.
