BIRMINGHAM, AL (09.06.19) - UT Dallas junior Keely Fillman netted the game winner with just over five minutes left in regulation as the Comets opened their first road trip of the fall with a 3-2 win over Birmingham-Southern,

Senior Stephanie White accounted for both of the first two goals for the Comets (3-0) and added the assist on Keely's game winner in the final minutes. White opened the scoring in the 14th minute to lift the Comets to a 1-0 lead, but the host Panthers answered with a goal from Abby Walker less than two minutes later. White pushed the Comets back ahead in the 19th minute her second goal of the first half, assisted by Bailee Davis.

The Comets' lead held until the 81st minute when BSC scored the equalizer off the foot of Abby Kay Choate.

UTD finished the match with 24 shots, nine on frame, compared to just nine by the Panthers. White and Fiilman each took five shots.

The Comets remain in Alabama Saturday with a 5 p.m. game against Huntingdon, on the campus of BSC.
