RICHARDSON, TX (02.22.20) - The UT Dallas men's tennis team opened the spring home slate Saturday afternoon with a 7-2 non-conference home loss to No. 16-ranked Pomona-Pitzer.

The Comets (now 1-2) earned a win at No. 3 doubles and then Ashwin Vaithianathan claimed a three-set win at No. 2 singles to account for the two UTD victories. The tandem of John Edwards and Nick Boquet downed the Sagehens' Quinn Hirsohn/Jack Weiler, 8-2, to avoid a doubles sweep. Vaithianathan would collect a 6-4, 5-7, 10-4, victory over P-P's Charlie Stark.

UTD will return to action Friday with a 3 p.m. American Southwest Conference East Division road match at Ozarks in Clarksville, Ark.
