SHERMAN, TX (03.07.20) - The UT Dallas women's tennis team collected its second win in as many days Saturday afternoon with a 7-2 road victory over Austin College in non-conference play.
The Comets improved to 2-1 on the young season and will return to action March 16-19 with three matches on the East coast for Spring Break.
UTD rolled through doubles play with three victories and iced the team win with decisive straight-set decisions at No. 1 and No. 2 singles.
Samantha Wong and
Kathy Joseph claimed an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles,
Suzuka Nishino and
Stephanie Joseph won 8-3 at No. 2, and
Laila Kamel and
Vivian Sepulveda were 8-5 winners at No. 3.
Kathy Joseph opened singles play with a 7-5, 6-1, win over AC's Diana Carvajalino before Wong secure the team victory with a 6-2, 6-4, decision against Melody Duong.
Stephanie Joseph (No. 3, 6-7, 6-1, 10-8) and
Adrienne Large (No. 5, 6-4, 7-5) also collected singles victories.
