RICHARDSON, TX (10.01.21) - The UT Dallas volleyball team suffered its third conference loss of the fall Friday night as the Comets dropped a 3-1 decision at home to Hardin-Simmons in ASC play.
The Comets (7-8, 5-3 ASC) hit just .125 as a team in the loss and committed 12 service errors in their first home match in nearly two weeks. UTD will look to bounce back Saturday with 2 p.m. ASC home match against McMurry.
In her first start of the season,
Madison Ball led the Comets with 12 kills in the match, adding 13 digs ad a block.
Erin Rogers finished with nine kills, hitting .400, with four blocks, while
Catherine Croft added eight kills and seven digs.
The visiting Cowgirls (5-4, 4-4 ASC) completed the season sweep of UTD, hitting just .174 as a team. HSU pulled head on the Comets, 2-0, after earning wins of 25-19 and 25-21 in the first two sets. The Comets rallied for a commanding 25-15 win in the third set before the Cowgirls completed the victory with a 25-14 win in the fourth.
Ball had five of her team-best 12 kills in the third as the Comets hit an impressive .316 as a team to avoid the sweep. UTD committed just two errors in the set while collecting 24 digs.
