Comet Women Snap Skid with Blowout ASC Road Win at LeTourneau

LONGVIEW, TX (10.14.21) - The UT Dallas women's soccer team put an end to a program-record four-game losing streak Thursday afternoon with a 4-0 ASC road win at LeTourneau.

Senior Keely Fillman scored twice early in the contest before Meghan Hollmann and Claire O'Sullivan each added goals later in the game as the Comets improved to 9-5 overall (3-4 ASC). UTD now has just three games left in the regular season and currently sits in sixth place in the ASC standings. The Comets return to the field Saturday at 5 p.m. against seventh-place East Texas Baptist in Marshall.

Fillman opened the scoring in the 10th minute when she found the back of the net after an assist from teammate Sofia Munoz. Fillman's second goal of the night, and fifth of the season, came in the 28th minute, also assisted by Munoz, to give UTD to a 2-0 advantage. With her 28th and 29th career goals Thursday, Fillman moved into a tie for sixth place on the Comets' all-time list, tied with Tiffany Knobloch (2003-06).

Hollmann tallied her second goal of the fall in the 43rd minute, assisted by Kate Crowe, to push the Comet lead to 3-0 at the break. O'Sullivan capped the scoring in the 69th minute with an unassisted goal, her first of her career.

The Comets finished their seventh shutout of the season with a 17-8 shot advantage over host LETU (2-10-1, 0-6 ASC), while collecting 11 shots on goal. Hollmann came off the bench to lead UTD with four shots, three on frame, while Sierra Foster took three shots. UTD starting keeper Mariana Gonzalez played the first 78 minutes of the lop-sided victory, making three saves. Jade Press closed the game with one save.
