JACKSON, MS (10.23.21) - In it's final road game of the regular season, the UT Dallas women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision at Behaven Saturday afternoon in ASC play.
Despite the loss, the Comets (9-7, 3-6 ASC) secured a spot in a the ASC Championship Tournament for the 20th consecutive season thanks to other results around the ASC this weekend. UTD will wrap up the regular season Friday, Oct. 29, when the Comets celebrate Senior Night with a 5 p.m. home game against Ozarks.
The host Blazers (8-6-1, 4-5-1 ASC) opened the scoring in the 25th minute to secure a 1-0 lead at the break and doubled their lead in the 62nd minute.
Meghan Hollmann got the Comets on the board in the 77th minute as she pushed a shot across the line after a short pass from teammate
Sofia Munoz. The tally was Hollmann's third of the season. However, the could not find the equalizer over the final minutes of the contest.
The Comets closed the afternoon with eight shots, three on frame, with Hollmann leading the charge with two shots. Starting keeper
Mariana Gonzalez made three saves in her 67 minutes in goal with
Jade Press holding the Blazers scorles in the final 23 minutes, making one save.
