RICHARDSON, TX (10.07.21) - The UT Dallas women's soccer team suffered its third straight defeat Thursday night, falling at home to Hardin-Simmons, 2-1, in ASC play.
The Comets (8-4, 2-3 ASC) are now amid their first three-game losing streak since the 2013 campaign and will look to bounce back Saturday when they host McMurry in a 5 p.m. ASC home contest.
The visiting Cowgirls (7-2, 4-0 ASC) opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a short shot from in front of the net by Hayden Abor. However,
Sofia Munoz evened the contest, 1-1, in the 21st minute with an unassisted tally from the left side of the HSU goal, her fifth of the fall. The Cowgirls would not find the go-ahead goal in the the 64th minute, when Caroline Pool found the back of the net on her own rebound of her own shot.
UTD closed the night with nine shots, three on frame, with Munoz and
Rana Hussein each finishing with two shots each. The Cowgirls took 12 shots, seven on target, with UTD keeper
Mariana Gonzalez making four saves.
