MARSHALL, TX (10.09.21) - The UT Dallas volleyball team is now riding its first three-match winning streak of the season after a quick 3-0 road win over East Texas Baptist Saturday afternoon in ASC play.
The Comets (10-8, 8-3 ASC) dominated the match from start to finish as they hit .272 for the contest and kept control of second place in the ASC with Saturday's victory. UTD will wrap up its three-match road trip next Saturday, with a 2 p.m. ASC match at LeTourneau in Longview.
Allison Owen finished the match with 10 kills along with a .667 hitting percentage to spark the Comets in the sweep.
Gabi Sommerfield added six kills while
Abby Jones,
Catherine Croft and
Madison Ball each had five kills in a balanced attack by UTD.
The Comets truly had a balanced offense opening set as no UTD player had more than two kills in the lop-sided 25-12 victory. The Comets an identical 25-12 win in the second set, let by Owen's three kills, and completed the sweep with a 25-9 victory. Owen had five of her 10 kills in the final set.
