MARSHALL, TX (03.23.21) - The UT Dallas volleyball program has come a long way since Marci Allison started the program in 2004 and the only coach the team has ever known earned her 400th career coaching victory Tuesday night as the No. 6-ranked Comets downed East Texas Baptist twice in American Southwest Conference East Division play.

Allison is now in her 17th season at the helm of the Comets and boasts a career record of 400-133 all-time with the program. Allison's Comets gave her win No. 399 with a sweep to open the doubleheader with ETBU. The milestone victory came with a 3-1 victory over the host Tigers.

The Comets (now 14-0) will close the regular season next Saturday, Apr. 3, when they visit Louisiana College for a 2 p.m. doubleheader in Pineville, La. UTD has already earned a spot in a 17th straight ASC Tournament, which will be hosted by the league's West Division champion, Apr. 8-10.

MATCH 1 - UTD 3, ETBU 0
Catherine Croft tallied 15 kills and a .500 attack percentage as she sparked the Comets to a 25-21, 25-14, 25-18, win over ETBU to open Tuesday's twin bill.

Gabi Sommerfield added eight kills while Abby Jones had seven kills. Croft also led the Comets with 18 digs.

Setter Emma Sevening finished with a match-high 17 assists in the Comets' 6-2 offense. Sydney Fit had 15 assists.

The Comets closed the sweep with a .210 team attack percentage.

MATCH 2 - UTD 3, ETBU 1
After dropping the opening set, 25-20, the Comets rallied back for three victories to complete the sweep of the host Tigers, 3-1. UTD posted wins of 25-20, 25-17, 25-16, to rally back.

Croft again led the Comets, this time with 14 kills and 19 digs, while Allison Owen finished with 11 kills. Sommerfield had nine kills and Jones added eight kills. Jones also had 13 digs.

Fitt dished out 28 assists while Sevening had 15. As a team, the Comets hit .215 while collecting nine service aces.
