Comet Women Continue Hot Streak With 4-0 Win Over BSC

RICHARDSON, TX (09.10.21) - The UT Dallas women's soccer team has now scored three or more goals in three straight games as the Comets rolled to a 4-0 home win over Birmingham-Southern Friday night in non-conference play.

Sofia Munoz had three assists on the night as the Comets (3-1) have now responded from a season-opening road loss with three consecutive home victories. Four separate UTD players found the net in Friday's victory while goalkeeper Megan Hannah made her first appearance of the season and collected nine saves.

The Comets opened the scoring quickly as Stephanie Ward lifted UTD to an early 1-0 advantage inside the six-yard box after a pass from Sierra Foster in the fourth minute. Bella Granada then doubled the Comet lead in the 17th minute after assists from both Munoz and Ashlyn Sims.

With a 2-0 lead at the half, UTD added two more goals in the second half to post four goals in a second straight outing. Foster's team-leading third goal of the fall came in the 60th minute after a pass from the right by Munoz. Meghan Hollmann completed the scoring in the 68th minute, also assisted by Munoz.

The Comets closed the night with 23 shots, 13 on frame, while BSC finished with 13 shots, nine of which were on target. Granada, Munoz, Hollmann and Keely Fillman each took three shots.
