RICHARDSON, TX (09.11.21) - After a tough loss to Southwestern in its first match of the day on Saturday, the UT Dallas volleyball closed the UTD Fall Festival on a high note with a 3-0 win over Aurora.
The Comets (3-5) wrapped up their home tournament with a 2-2 mark and will now dive full on into ASC play with a Tuesday road match at McMurry. UTD opened league play Friday with a 3-0 win over LeTourneau to open the Fall Festival.
Allison Owen sparked the Comets with 11 kills, six digs and a block, while hitting at a .444 clip in the three-set victory.
Catherine Croft added eight kills while
Abby Jones had seven kills.
The Comets hit just .167 as a team in the sweep, but clamped down defensively with 64 digs (21.3 per set). UTD had seven service aces and seven total blocks.
