BROWNWOOD, Texas - The UT Dallas women's soccer team blanked Howard Payne 2-0 at Citizens National Bank Field Saturday afternoon.
The Comets (5-4, 2-0 American Southwest Conference) got on the board in the 32nd minute when freshman forward 
Alexa Poage scored her first career goal. Fellow freshman 
Janae Shaklee recorded the assist.
Just 51 seconds into the second half, Poage found junior forward 
Bella Granada, who scored the insurance goal.
Sophomore keeper 
Jade Press recorded four saves in her shutout of the season. The Comet defensive unit of 
Peyton Guidry, Fauth Autery, 
Caitlin Malone, 
Skyler Rodrigue and 
Hendrikje Bodine allowed just four shots from the Lady Jackets (5-4, 1-1 ASC).
For the game, UTD outshot HPU 10-4 overall and 5-4 on goal. The Comets led 9-4 in corner kicks and the Lady Jackets led in fouls 9-5.
UT Dallas Notes
- Poage scored for the first time in her young career and recorded an assist for the third straight game.
- Granada netted her team-leading fourth goal of the year.
- Shaklee posted an assist for the fourth time this season.
