RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas volleyball team lost its first home match of the season, falling to McMurry 16-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-19 in American Southwest Conference action at the UTD Activity Center Tuesday evening.

The Comets (13-5, 9-2 ASC), came out on fire, hitting a blistering .405 on 18 kills in the first set to take the opening frame. In the second game, the War Hawks (11-9, 7-6 ASC) built an early 8-3 lead and maintained at least a two-point advantage to knot the match up. Tied 21-21 in the third, the visitors from Abilene, Texas ended the game on a 4-2 rally to go up 2-1. The final frame saw 12 ties and four lead changes upt to 14-14, before McMurry pulled away with 11-5 run to end the match.

For the entire match, UTD hit .226 on 56 kills, five aces, three blocks and 79 digs. McMurry hit .227 on 49 kills, 12 aces, four blocks and 75 digs.

UT Dallas Notes
- Freshman right side Gabi Engels hit a season-high .435 on 12 kills.
- Senior outside hitter Abby Jones paced the Comets with 15 kills to go with 20 digs.
- Senior Madison Ball recorded the fifth double-double of the season with 11 kills and a team-high 22 digs.
- Right side Catherine Croft led the Comets with three blocks.
- Junior libero Rachel Baxter came up with 19 digs.
- Junior setter Emma Sevening recorded 25 assists and three aces, while Izzy Sundquist added 22 assists.

McMurry Notes
- Keetyn Davis led the War Hawks with 11 kills to go with 15 digs and five aces.
- Lexi Miller recorded a triple-double of 10 kills, 18 assists and 16 digs.
- Libero Adile Leal came up with 24 digs.
- Ashlyn Quillan had 17 assists.
