Comets and War Hawks Play to 0-0 Tie

ABILENE, Texas - The UT Dallas women's soccer team battled McMurry to a 0-0 tie at Wilford Moore Stadium Thursday night in the penultimate American Southwest Conference regular season contest.

With one game left, the Comets (7-5-2, 4-2-2 ASC) need a win and a War Hawks (7-5-3, 5-2-1) loss on Saturday to be the fourth seed in the ASC Championship Tournament and the right to host a quarterfinal contest Tuesday, November 1 against McMurry. Any other result and UTD will be the fifth seed and play at McMurry or Concordia Texas in the opening round.

The War Hawks, who the Comets defeated 2-0 in non-conference play earlier in the season, outshout the visitors 8-3 overall and 4-0 on goal. McMurry led in corner kicks 7-2 and UTD led in fouls 4-3.

The game was the seventh shutout of the year for the Comets.

The defensive unit of Claire O'Sullivan, Peyton Guidry, Faith Autery, Caitlin Malone, Skylar Williams and Skyler Rodrigue along with keeper Jade Press shut down the McMurry offense.
