Comets Take Road Win from Lobos in Four Sets

ALPINE, Texas - The American Southwest Conference-leading UT Dallas volleyball team picked up another win, topping Sul Ross State 20-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-12 at the Gallego Center Friday night.

After dropping the first set, the Comets (17-5, 13-2) rebounded to take the next three, culminated with 17 kills and a .412 hitting percentage in the fourth and final frame. 

UTD hit .200 on 52 kills, seven aces, eight blocks and 80 digs. The Lobos (7-13, 3-11 ASC) hit .099 with 46 kills, five aces, six blocks and 73 digs.

UT Dallas Notes
- Abby Jones paced the Comets with 14 kills and 18 digs for her eight double-double of the year.
- Junior setter Izzy Sundquist recorded a season-high 25 assists with three aces and six digs.
- Senior right side Catherine Croft recorded 10 kills and moved into eighth place on the UTD career list with 912.
- Senior middle Karle Lynd posted seven kills and three solo blocks while freshman Gabi Engels had seven kills and five digs.
- Junior Hannah Paine recorded a season-best 13 digs. 
- Emma Sevening added 19 assists and seven digs.
- Senior Madison ball came up with 12 digs.

Sul Ross State Notes
- Annia Canaba recorded a triple-double with 18 kills, 12 assists and 19 digs to go with four blocks.
- Kamryn Caruth had 21 assists and nine digs.
- Faith Herrera came up with 17 digs and two aces.
- Taryn Griner had seven kills.
