ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The UT Dallas women's basketball team ended the Chuck Resler Tournament hosted by the University of Rochester with a 67-42 loss at Johns Hopkins.
The Comets (0-2) and Blue Jays (2-1), who are receiving votes in both top 25 polls, were even at 11-11 after the first quarter. JHU outscored UTD by six in the second quarter for a 29-23 advantage at the break. The Blue Jays shot nearly 50 percent in the second half while the Comets shot 22 percent, giving Hopkins the 25 point win.
For the game, UTD shot 27.5 percent (14-for-51) from the field, 4-for-16 from outside and 10-of-20 at the line. They also recorded 30 rebounds, six assists, two blocks, three steals and nine turnovers.
JHU shot 46.3 percent (25-for-54) from the floor, 7-of-20 from three-point range and 10-of-14 at the free throw stripe. They also had 43 boards, 13 assists, four blocks, six assists and 10 turnovers.
UT Dallas Notes
- Senior forward
Diane Hurst tied her career high with eight points and dished out a pair of assists to go with a block and a steal.
- Junior guard
Blythe Williams scored eight points and gra bed a team-high six rebounds.
- Senior guard
Jordan Maxwell scored six points and sophomore guard
Cierra Trigg added five points.
Johns Hopkins Notes
- Michaela O'Neil led all players with 16 points and five rebounds.
- Macie Feldman had 10 points and five rebounds.
- Natalie Mann posted six points and five assists.
- Jadyn Murray added nine points.
