RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's basketball team closed out the UTD Hoops Classic with a 57-43 loss to #2/5 Transylvania at the UTD Activity Center Saturday afternoon.
The Comets (1-3) played closed to the Pioneers (2-0), who made the NCAA Elite 8 last season, in the first half TU led 13-8 after the first period and 29-23 at the break. TU moved the lead to 18 points in the third quarter. UTD used a 9-1 rally in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to eight points with just under the three minutes to play.
For the game, the Comets shot 30.9 percent (17-for-55) from the field, 6-for-22 from outside and 3-for-6 at the line. They also came up with 31 rebounds, 13 assists, six blocks, seven steals and led the turnover battle by committing just 13.
The Pioneers shot 35.4 percent (17-for-48) overall, 7-of-24 from three-point range and 16-for-19 at the stripe to go with 39 boards, 15 assists, five blocks, five steals and 14 turnovers.

- Senior guard
Lauren Fulenwider scored eight points, dished out three assists and recorded a pair of steals.
- Junior guard
Kaylee Boykin also scored eight points with four rebounds and two steals.
- Senior forward
Diane Hurst scored six points and senior guard
Maddie Edler netted six points on a pair of three-pointers.
- Sophomore forward
Maggie Delascurain scored four points and pulled down four offensive rebounds.Â
Transylvania Notes
- Laken Ball led the Pioneers with 24 points and was 5-for-9 from three-point range.
- Dasia Thornton had 13 points and eight rebounds.
- Kennedi Stacy scored eight points to go with 12 boards.
- Madison Kellione recorded four assists.Â
