RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's basketball team fell to to St. Thomas (Texas) 58-53 in the Comets' home opener Wednesday afternoon.
In a low-scoring game, the teams were back-and-forth in the first half, with the Celts (4-1) taking a 27-23 lead at the break. UST led by as many as 11 with 3:03 left in the game, but the Comets (3-2) scored nine straight points to make the game 52-50 with 41 seconds remaining. Seniors

The Celts hit a bucket and four three throws in the final 30 seconds before sophomore
Luke Kiser hit a three-pointer at the end of the game for the final 58-53 score.
UTD shot 39.6 percent (19-for-48) overall, 6-for-22 from three-point range and 9-for-15 at the line. They also recorded 30 rebounds, 12 assists, two blocked shots, 10 steals and 18 turnovers.
UST shot 43.8 percent (21-for-48) from the field, 6-of-19 from outside and 10-for-15 at the stripe with 33 rebounds, 12 assists, three blocks, eight steals and 20 turnovers.

Kyle Poerschke scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Comets.
- Curtis scored nine points, going three-for-three from outside.
