RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's basketball team stepped out of conference play Friday evening to defeat Schreiner 76-59 at the UTD Activity Center.
The Comets (8-2) and the Mountaineers (6-4) exchanged several leads and ties in the first half before the home team took a 34-30 advantage into the break.
UTD pulled away from SU by shooting 61.5 percent (16-for-26) in the second period. Over the first 10 minutes, the Comets outscored the Mountaineers 23-10 for a 57-40 lead. UT Dallas would lead by as many as 19 late in the game.
Overall, the Comets shot 49.1 percent (28-for-57)Â from the field, 7-for-21 from three-point territory and 13-for-21 at the line. They also recorded 27 rebounds, 19 assists, three blocks, 13 steals and 12 turnovers.
Schreiner shot 45.8 percent (22-for-48) overall, 3-for-17 from outside and 12-for-19 from the free throw line with 34 rebounds, 10 assists, no blocks, four steals and 24 turnovers.
UT Dallas Notes
- Sophomore guard
Luke Kiser recorded season-highs with 12 points and seven assists to go with six rebounds and two steals.
- Senior
Hunter Stevens also scored 12 points and dished out five assists, moving him into seventh place on the UTD career list with 255.
- Sophomore forward
Rob Wade scored 11 points and tied a season-best with seven boards.
- Center
Will Isaac posted two blocks and a pair of steals. He cracked the Comets' career top 10 in career blocked shots, tying for ninth with 46.
- Kyle Poersche finished with seven points and two steals.
- Sophomore guard
Thibaut Tagnon hit a trio of three-pointers, en rote to 11 points and three assists.

Nick Donnelly scored six points in seven minutes off the bench - a season-high.
Schreiner Notes
- Leading scorer and rebounder Kamden Ross was limited to three points and six rebounds while dealing with foul trouble.
- Cristian Rodriguez came off the bench to lead the Mountaineers with 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting.
- Beau Cervantes scored seven points and recorded two steals.
- Darian Gibson had nine points.
